Tzatziki is probably the most famous Greek dip. It's easy, tasty, cool…
It is considered an integral part of a barbecue, but can also be eaten with bread or french fries.
Today I give you the authentic recipe, for the success of which it is very important to use Greek whole yogurt.
Finally, I
will tell you a secret. When squeezing the cucumber, do not throw its juice down
the drain. Put it in a glass with ice cubes and enjoy it!
Recipe
- ½ a kilo of whole Greek yogurt
- 1 cucumber (about 250 gr.)
- 3-6 small cloves of garlic
- 1 tbsp. chopped dill (optional)
- 1 tbsp. vinegar
- 6 tbsp. olive oil
- ½ tsp. salt
- A little pepper
- Wash and peel the cucumber. Remove the seeds and grate the cucumber on the thick side of the grater.
- Squeeze it well with your hands or by pressing it with a spoon into a sieve.
- Pour the yogurt and the grated cucumber into a bowl.
- Grate in the bowl the garlic on the thin side of the grater.
- Add the dill, vinegar, olive oil, salt and pepper to the bowl and mix well.
